Map Oxbridge Applications. 14 – 16 Waterloo Place, London, SW1Y 4AR

Each year, we meet up to 500 potential Oxbridge Applicants for Private Consultations here in our London offices or over Skype.

Private Consultations (£350) last 90 minutes and are available to book during the week or on weekends. Run by an Oxbridge-graduate admissions expert, a Private Consultation begins with a mock test and subject-specific mock interview to assess the candidate’s current strengths and areas for improvement. Following this, candidates receive full feedback, key information they need to prepare themselves for the application steps ahead, and a bespoke strategy for preparation.

Private Consultations are booked over the phone (+44 207 499 2394) or by emailing info@oxbridgeapplications.com.

Structure of a Consultation

A Private Consultation is divided into three key sections:

1

SUBJECT SPECIFIC
MOCK TEST AND INTERVIEW

In a one-to-one interview environment, we will assess a student’s communication, subject-knowledge and potential to study their subject at Oxbridge using real past interview questions.
Students also sit a mini half-hour version of their relevant Oxbridge pre-test to indicate how they are currently performing, and how this would translate into a score on the full test paper.

2

Parent
consultation

Following the mock-interview, parents also have a chance to ask their questions about the application process and future steps. Supporting the candidate as a family is crucial and we therefore ask parents and guardians to be in involved at this stage.

3

Evaluation &
next steps

As a group, we will discuss the candidate’s feedback and performance, developing a strategy for honing their skills and maximising their potential in each area of the application process.

We see students for Private Consultations from the age of 14 and up, however, for those under 17, we omit the mock test element. The Private Consultation becomes an hour long and the price is reduced to £295 for these younger candidates.

Every mock test and mock interview in a Private Consultation is fully subject-specific. Our Oxbridge-graduate tutors create packs of mock papers for the HAT, BMAT, MAT, ENGAA and all other Oxbridge pre-tests that are available for purchase separately. In the Private Consultation, students sit a mini half-hour version of their relevant test to indicate how they are currently performing, and how this would translate a score come admissions test season season in October.

Common Areas Covered in a Private Consultation

Students and parents are invited to attend Private Consultations as a family and many use the session to ask questions like the following.

A Private Consultation is an opportunity to get expert, detailed answers based on our 20 years of research to questions like these :

1/11
Have I chosen the right subject?
2/11
Which university should I apply to? How should I choose between Oxford and Cambridge?
3/11
How do I compare against other interview candidates at present?
4/11
How do I compare to others in my position? Am I as good as other students applying?
5/11
Which specific degree would suit me? How would different course choices affect my chances of success?
6/11
What’s the difference between the colleges? Do I stand a better chance at some rather than others? Which college would suit me?
7/11
How can I prepare myself properly for the interviews? What will I be asked – and why?
8/11
How can I prepare for the TSA, ELAT, HAT, PAT, LNAT, Cambridge Law Test, BMAT exam, or any of the other admissions tests they might throw my way?
9/11
Am I of an academic standard that is high enough to be successful in an Oxbridge application?
10/11
What can I do to prepare, so that I show myself to be an outstanding candidate at each stage of the application process?
11/11
What written work do I need to submit?

Private Consultation Testimonials

While I was delighted with the outcome of my interaction with [your consultants], it was no surprise as it coincided with the research I had done prior to approaching your firm. My husband and I shortlisted Oxbridge Applications from an array of other consulting firms and individuals offering the same service. After our meeting yesterday, I am convinced that we made the right decision to go with your firm."
