Alicia Luba
Consultancy Director

Alicia holds a first-class degree in English Literature from St Hilda’s College Oxford and also an MA in Shakespeare from Kings College, London. She has been consulting with students, schools and parents for Oxbridge Applications since 2013, specialising in the Arts and Humanities subjects. She regularly takes on her own Premier Service students as well as conducting the initial Private Consultations in the London office or around the globe. Alicia travels to meet clients and schools in the United Arab Emirates, Italy, China, Nigeria and most recently, Oman.

Alison Bissell
Head of Oxbridge Applications

Alison read Mathematics and Philosophy at Pembroke College, Oxford. She began working with Oxbridge Applications as a tutor and has maintained this role alongside her other work since 2012. As a consultant with Oxbridge Applications, Alison has conducted hundreds of mock interviews and consultations with students both in the UK and around the globe, travelling to schools in the Middle East and Far East. She has also worked in corporate roles within government, before rejoining us in September 2017.

Ed enjoys working with students, teachers, schools and institutions to strengthen the bridge between the American and British educational systems and to open those opportunities to all types of learners. Ed continues to work on A-List’s global executive management team, helping to oversee the company’s expansion in the US, Middle East and China. He’s always delighted to meet with families that are considering the US track or schools that are seeking US guidance for their students.

Dr. Chantelle Jackson-Boothby
Director of University Admissions for A-List Education

Dr. Chantelle Jackson-Boothby began her career in education as an undergraduate admissions counselor and graduate academic counselor at UC Irvine, where she advised prospective students on the application process and assisted current students with academic and career planning. After transitioning from higher education, Chantelle served as the head academic advisor at a large public high school in Southern California. In 2016, she assumed the role of college counselor at a private independent school in Anaheim, California. Chantelle has also served as an application admissions reader for both UC Irvine and UCLA for over a decade.

Chantelle earned her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California, where she studied the role of academic advising and student development services for online learners at US universities. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Southern California and a M.A. in Multicultural Education from CSU Dominguez Hills.



Since 1999, Oxbridge Applications has sought the guidance and advice, as well as worked with, former Oxbridge Admissions Tutors, to ensure our students receive the most accurate guidance possible.

Barry Webb

Barry Webb is a former Admissions Tutor and Tutor in English at Oxford University. He is also a former member of the Joint Oxford & Cambridge Admissions Council. He has advised Oxbridge Applications from its inception, and is integral to our understanding of the Oxbridge application process. Barry currently teaches Master’s-level students at Oxford, having previously been a visiting professor in the USA and Japan. Barry’s decade-long tenure with Oxford University means that students get an unparalleled insight into what qualities and attributes the universities seek in applicants.

John Wilson

John Wilson is a lay member of the university admissions panel for medical school undergraduate entry at UCL (University College London) and has also performed this role at Imperial College and Queen Mary University in London. John has been invited to speak on a number of occasions in Hong Kong by the British Council to share his knowledge and experience of the British education system and on making applications to British universities. John is currently Head Of Upper School at Eaton Square School.John was the Principal  at Acorn House College. Prior to Acorn House, John was the Director of Studies at prestigious Sixth Form College in Kensington, London a position he held since 2005. John was educated at state schools and colleges in the North East of England before graduating from Oxford University with honours in biological sciences and followed this with a PGCE from Cambridge.

Jane Bennett-Rees

Jane is a graduate of St Hugh’s, Oxford, and was later a fellow at Magdalene College, Cambridge, where she held the position of Admissions Researcher. Her insight into both Oxford and Cambridge University has given her an excellent grounding from which she advises and prepares students for entrance, visiting both universities regularly and talking to admissions and subject tutors in order to maintain an encompassing knowledge of the application process. Jane currently lectures in Mathematics at King’s College, London and Guys Medical School, focusing her energies on helping first-year students bridge the gap between A-level study and university courses. She is a member of Oxbridge Applications’ advisory board.
