What is the Oxford BMSAT (Biomedical Sciences Admissions Test)?
Oxford University have announced some key information on the new BMSAT (Biomedical Sciences Admissions Test). This is a new admissions test for applicants in the 2024-25 application cycle, and must be sat by applicants to the Biomedical Sciences undergraduate course.

The BMSAT is an admissions test designed to help Oxford University decide between applicants to its Biomedical Sciences undergraduate degree programme.
What is the Format of the BMSAT?
The BMSAT will be a 90-minute test made up of 80 questions that cover scientific knowledge and its application. 20 questions will be set for each of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. The test will employ multiple choice questions, with responses marked automatically. Incorrect answers will not be marked negatively.
What Content will be Covered by the BMSAT?
The BMSAT will be based on common material covered in GCSE Higher Tier (or equivalent) science and mathematics syllabuses. The University directs test-takers to the United Kingdom Department of Education specification for GCSE Mathematics and single science for a summary of the detailed content to be assessed in each specific area.
How do I Register for the BMSAT?
The BMSAT will be open for registration between 15th August and 4th October 2024, free of charge, with Pearson VUE.
When do I Sit the BMSAT?
The BMSAT will be sat between the 21st and 31st of October 2024.
