Your Guide to Registering and Sitting Oxbridge Admissions Tests

If you're aiming to secure a spot at prestigious UK universities like Oxford and Cambridge, you’ll know that admissions tests are part of the admissions process for the majority of courses.

Oxford and Cambridge often require applicants to sit an admissions test designed to measure their skills and/or aptitude for the course to which they are applying. Whilst studying for an admissions test is important, it's worthless if you don't correctly register for the test in the first place!

In this guide, we'll walk you through everything you need to know about the practicalities of registering for and sitting admissions tests at Oxford and Cambridge for 2025 entry.

A Note on Cambridge University Pre-Interview Assessments

Various Cambridge University courses involve a college-registered assessment which takes place before interview for those who have been shortlisted. These tests do not always have a standard format, and are not given a set date as they vary by college depending on their individual procedures and interview schedules. We recommend heading to the website of the college you have applied to for more specific details and information regarding the course you’re applying for. These tests do not need to be registered for in advance, and all details regarding how to sit the paper, including dates and times, will be communicated to you by the college from which you have received your invitation to interview.
