Oxford Admissions Tests for 2025

Oxford have announced which admissions tests they will be using in the 2025-26 admissions cycle, as well as on which dates Oxford-only tests will be sat. Check out the article for the key things we have learned, as well as a full list of Oxford-only admissions test dates.

 Oxford University have recently confirmed which admissions tests will be used for the 2025-26 admissions cycle, as well as the dates on which Oxford-only admissions tests will be held.

The first important piece of news we have learned from this announcement is that the HAT (History Admissions Test) will not be in use for this admissions cycle. This means that applicants to History, and all History-related joint honours courses, will no longer need to sit this admissions test. If you are applying to a joint course, do note that you may still need to sit another admissions test for the other department to which you are applying.

With the exception of the HAT, Oxford have confirmed that the rest of the admissions tests will remain the same as those used last year. Please note that the UCAT (for medicine applicants) and the LNAT (for law applicants) are run by an outside agency who have not announced test dates yet. For these dates, as well as registration dates for all tests, please check back with us soon.
