Cambridge Interview Timeline for December 2024

November 2024

Applicants will be informed via email during November whether they have been shortlisted for interviews and, if so, at which college they will interview.

Correspondence from the college will inform applicants of their interview format (online or in person), number of interviews (often applicants will sit an interview with their college and another with their department), and dates and times of their interviews. It is therefore very important that you monitor your email inbox closely to ensure you do not miss any important information from the college or department.

December 2024

Most Cambridge interviews take place in the first 3 weeks of December. Whilst the university has not released a timetable for interview windows, we recommend being prepared to free up several days in early-mid December in case your interview is scheduled. Again, all information regarding specific timings will be communicated by the college at which you are interviewing via email.

January 2025

In the event that your college found your application promising but do not have space for you, your application may be put forward for other colleges to consider as part of the Winter Pool (read more about the winter pool in our dedicated blog post here). Winter Pool applicants are interviewed at additional colleges in early-mid January. Once again, if you are selected for additional January interviews you will be informed of this, as well as specific interview times and arrangements, via email.

In late January, Cambridge release the results of the December/January interview processes. This means that you will know whether you have been given an offer by Cambridge, to which college you have been accepted (if you were interviewed by additional colleges), and the specifics of said offer (e.g. exam grade requirements).
