The amazing performances by so many elite athletes at the Olympics has been truly inspiring over the past few days. Who will forget the sight of Bradley Wiggins on the podium receiving his 7th Olympic medal, following his awesome performance in the time trial? But, winning medals and breaking world records is the result of lots of hard work over a number of years. Don’t worry, I’m not suggesting that you need to work as hard to secure a place at your preferred university! However, the Oxbridge Applications team does know that those people who are prepared to put in some hard work and think ahead tend to feel more in control when the UCAS deadlines hit…And the Autumn will be here before you know it.
Getting head of your competitors (i.e. those students also applying for your degree course, at your chosen college or university) is what it’s all about. So, why not start the first draft of your personal statement now? Putting words on paper really will help you to think about (a) why you are applying for your chosen subject, (b) what you have done at school and in your spare time and (c) why you deserve that all important invitation to interview. Our final Personal Statement Masterclass of 2012 will take place at New Bond Street on Saturday 25th August, so book your place now! Remember, regardless of your results on 16th August, you will need to write a personal statement eventually and we’re here to make the process easier!
For some of you, a personal statement and strong academic results won’t be enough. Oxbridge, and other instituions, will expect you to also sit an admissions tests. Again, it’s never too early to start preparing for the tests. Practice, practice, and more practice! And we can help you in two ways: why not book a place at one of our Admissons Test Seminars or download one of our mock tests?
