Amber
Biochemistry
Oxford

Amber studied at Oxford University from 2014 to 2018, reading Biochemistry (Molecular and Cellular). During her time, she completed a lab placement at the University of British Columbia, studying the effect of insulin-like peptide deficiencies on longevity in Drosophila melanogaster. Her master’s project focused on how sexual behaviour is genetically encoded in Drosophila, as well as specialising in virology and immunology for the optional modules. Since then, she has taken a year out to work as a business analyst in London, before returning to Oxford in 2019 to start her PhD. This is focused on the development and evolution of Drosophila, with particular focus on gene regulatory networks.
