HSPSAA Course Structure

As an introduction to the day, you will learn how your test is used in the admissions process and what skills you need to demonstrate in order to impress the examiners and achieve the maximum marks. Our expert consultant focuses on critical thinking, effectively drawing on sources and essay-writing, all integral to the HSPSAA, in order to help you devise your own strategy for tackling each. The introduction will guide you in the way that you need to start thinking in order to maximise your chances of success in the test, and give a detailed breakdown of the day.

Registration opens at 10.30am and the day finishes at 5.30pm. All of our unique HSPSAA mock papers and answer packs are included in the price of the course.

You will analyse model HSPSAA answers, identifying successful ways of approaching questions and evaluating how to gain maximum marks, revising the skills required in each section of the HSPSAA including the multiple-choice section and the essay section.

Our consultant will help you develop techniques to critically draw information from sources and to effectively summarise points, as well as discuss how best to support arguments through the use of convincing evidence.

We will help you develop your own test strategy;  helping you to develop techniques in which can structure your time in order to gain maximum marks and develop a clear understanding of which areas you should focus on in your preparation leading up to the day of the admissions test.

It’s essential in the HSPSAA develop your ability with regard to reading and thinking critically, to apply your own knowledge to questions and to write clearly and concisely. Timing is key, so our HSPSAA consultant will help you to formulate a plan and focus on the skills needed in each section to succeed.

In the HSPSAA you’ll have to reading time, adequately deliberating, planning and writing to ensure you communicate all your ideas effectively under time pressure. In order to do your best on the day, it is essential to have practised extensively.

You will be sent one of our mock HSPSAA Papers to sit before the day, which will be returned to you marked and with feedback within 10 working days of the Seminar. As part of the day, you’ll also sit a practice paper, to time and in examination conditions. This will be marked and returned within 10 working days of the Seminar.

I asked for my test result after they had been released and I found out I came in the top 20! I’m so happy to have done so well and got my place at Oxford – I couldn’t have done it if I hadn’t been on the seminar day.  Thank you!
